[mp3] “Drop-D[lite]”

21 May

With summer comes ample free time. Yesterday I spent a few hours messing around with GarageBand and the following mp3 is what resulted. It’s several different guitar parts patched together with various software instruments and loops thrown in, because who wants to listen to four minutes of nothing but guitar instrumental? Bits of this will probably end up in a finished song (or songs) over the next few months.

For those few of you who take a listen and are left wondering if the beginning is a bold-faced rip-off of The Hold Steady’s “Lord, I’m Discouraged,” I can promise you that I came up with this chord progression before I had ever even heard of them. Pinkie-swear.

Wow Greg! I’m so glad you’ve continued using Garageband. It looks like you got a lot out of the class!

    Keep it up 🙂

Thanks Mark! Happy to see you take such an active interest in how your former students are faring.
